Benefits of Membership

Why Members Belong
A significant part of nursing involves managing data, information and knowledge. Our ability to understand the nursing business needs (data and process), design and build or analyze and implement information systems that meet the needs of nurses, and redesign systems of care delivery are all integral to the role of the nurse informatician. Membership provides the opportunity to network and learn from the experience of colleagues, benefit from educational offerings and test one's ideas or strategies with experts. Relevant and timely information is shared and the power of group decision making and a collective voice can have great influence.

The Working Group has the following task force and committees: policy, nominations, membership, presentation (at conferences), newsletter, and mentoring. Other positions include NOLF representative, webmaster, ICIRN, and IMIA Representative. As part of our ongoing outreach effort, we have also added a liaison to the MRNS-MANI group.

Working Group member benefits include timely publications and communications, networking with informatics leaders, the opportunity to participate on strategic task forces or boards, maintaining currency of knowledge, educational opportunities, and representing the collective voice of the members.
